The role: 

This full-time, office-based position is located at our yard in Spotswood, just a short walk from our head office. The Symal Plant, People and Logistics team oversees more than 4,500 assets valued at over $150 million and is responsible for managing logistics and all yards across the group. As a Management Accountant, you will support our Commercial Lead with financial and reporting responsibilities.

Your impact: 

Your addition to our busy team will enable a sense of fluidity between the wider Asset's and Finance team.

Your every day: 

  • Asset Billing: preparation of weekly asset billing reports in conjunction with Asset Allocations teams
  • End of Month tasks: preparation of end of month journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Assist with the preparation of Business Unit P&L and Balance Sheets
  • Monthly Management Reporting: preparation of monthly asset utilisation and cost / revenue reports, assist with GM Review Packs
  • Attend to billing queries from project teams, provide credits and follow up on missing billings
  • Prepare monthly yard expense reports
  • Assisting head office Finance team with finance queries and requests (FBT, FAR, FTC etc)
  • Management of a site-based Project Administrator

Who are you? 

  • Tertiary degree in accounting, business or similar
  • Completion of a CA or CPA qualification OR nearing completion
  • Similar experience in a business partner capacity or management accountant capacity
  • Experience working with operations team, and non-financial stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of Plant & Equipment is ideal, or similar industries such as Construction, Resources / Manufacturing, Logistics
  • Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency across IT
  • Attentive to detail, can manage time well and great organisation skills
