The role:
Your role as a Senior HSEQ Advisor will see you support infrastructure and renewables projects across Victoria. This is a regional roaming role requiring flexibility and autonomy, with some travel to and work from Melbourne.
You will thrive in a blend of operational and systems-based safety responsibilities and your technical expertise in renewables will see you succeed in working on wind, solar, hydro, battery and transmission Projects.
Your every day:
- Lead safety throughout the entire project lifecycle – from start-up to delivery, across multiple projects
- Drive a strong safety culture across diverse project environments
- Influence project outcomes through proactive safety leadership
- Conduct and facilitate site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Advise and support project teams on safety compliance and procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety legislation and internal standards
- Develop and implement safety systems and initiatives, promote best practice systems tailored specifically for the business
- Investigate incidents and lead root cause analysis and preventative measures
- Support the return-to-work process for injured workers
- Coordinate and deliver safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks
- Maintain accurate safety records and contribute to reporting
- Collaborate with team members, stakeholders including contractors, clients and other to integrate safety into project planning
- Facilitate external and internal governance processes
- Support continuous improvement in safety systems and practices
- Act as conduit to, and reports to the State HSEQ Manager
Who are you?
- Formal qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree) with strong working knowledge of OHS legislation, codes of practice and major project requirements
- More than 5 years’ experience in an Advisor/Senior role supporting health and safety matters within the construction industry, preferably delivering large-scale infrastructure or renewables projects
- Technical and proven knowledge in safety for the renewables sector (wind, solar, hydro, battery, transmission)
- Strong, hands on, flexible self-starter with a proactive mindset and ability to manage multiple projects, safety deliverables and priorities
- Appreciation for both operational safety and safety systems
- Excellent communicator with the ability to engage and influence teams
- Willing and able to travel to and across multiple project sites
- Ability to travel to and in between rural projects and plus travel to Melbourne
