The role: 

We are seeking a senior payroll professional with a robust payroll background to join the team in a 2IC capacity, assisting with and overseeing the end-to-end group payroll process. This is an office based role situated at our Head Office in Spotswood, VIC.

Your impact: 

Your presence will ensure the accurate and efficient processing of group payroll activities and you will influence a fast-paced team to achieve efficient outcomes.

Your every day: 

  • Processing payroll using appropriate systems and procedures.
  • Liaising with the wider finance team to ensure correct payment allocations.
  • Continuously evaluating and streamlining payroll processes for increased efficiencies and accuracy.
  • Supervision of payroll changes and system upgrades
  • Leading a team of payroll officers to achieve efficient outcomes.
  • Collaborating with the Payroll Manager as well as the wider corporate services teams in handling payroll inquiries as well as facilitating seamless data flow.

Who are you? 

  • More than 5+ years of demonstrated experience in a similar role preferably within a construction company, running end-to-end payroll.
  • Crucial experience having led a team of 1-2 payroll officers in a similar senior or managerial role.
  • Excellent understanding of payroll legislation and (preferred) experience dealing with construction EBA’s.
  • Experience using JobPac (preferred but not essential) or similar payroll software.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team player willing to get hands-on, hard-working attitude.
