The role:

We are looking for a Training and Compliance Coordinator to join the Training and Compliance team, based from our Brisbane office in Eight Mile Plains.

This role plays a key part in supporting delivery and operational teams by coordinating onboarding, employee training, maintaining compliance systems, and ensuring competency and legislative requirements are met across all of the business in our Group nationally.

Your everyday:

  • Liaise with and advise the HSEQ Manager, Area Managers, Construction Managers, and Operations Managers of required training for individual employees and follow through with any instructed training bookings.
  • Provide guidance and advice to the leadership team on training gaps and potential risks to the Symal Group.
  • Ensure that competencies / licences obtained comply with legislation, industry, and client specific requirements
  • Provide guidance and advice to the leadership team on training gaps and potential risks to the Symal Group.
  • Action all requirements needed for employees to be compliant / onboarded to compliance management systems’ efficiently
  • Oversee quality of training programs delivered, professionally consult, and provide feedback to stakeholders on a regular basis

Who are you?

  • More than 3 years experience in a Training and Compliance role or similar, within the Construction industry, otherwise Utilities, Oil & Gas, Mining, Rail & Transport or Manufacturing would be preferable
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office suite experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and advise stakeholders
  • Proven time management, planning, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently the support of your immediate and wider team
  • Knowledge of compliance and human resources management software preferable i.e., Lucidity, Hammertech / Onsite Track Easy / Rail Industry Worker.
  • Understanding of relevant legislations
  • Exposure to AS4801, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 certifications
  • Internal auditor qualification / training is preferred but not essential.
