HSEQ Advisor – FIFO | Gawara Baya Wind Farm (Queensland)

30% FIFO Uplift | Free Flights, Accommodation & Meals | Long-Term Project

Lead safety on one of Queensland's largest renewable energy projects.

Symal Infrastructure is delivering the $347M civil works package for the 400MW Gawara Baya Wind Farm, one of Queensland's landmark renewable energy developments, located approximately 2.5 hours from Townsville.

We're looking for an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our high-performing project team and help drive a proactive, high-performing safety culture across a major civil construction project.

If you're a hands-on HSEQ professional who enjoys being in the field, building strong relationships and influencing positive safety outcomes, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact while advancing your career with one of Australia's leading civil contractors.

Why join Symal?

  • 30% FIFO uplift
  • Free flights, accommodation and meals
  • Long-term project with future opportunities across Australia
  • Career development and leadership pathways
  • Work on one of Queensland's largest renewable energy projects
  • Collaborative, safety-first culture where your input is valued

About the role

As the HSEQ Advisor, you'll be a visible leader on site, partnering with project managers, supervisors, employees and subcontractors to embed safe work practices and continually improve project performance.

This is a highly collaborative role where you'll coach frontline teams, influence positive behaviours, provide practical safety advice and help ensure everyone goes home safely every day.

Key responsibilities

  • Champion a proactive safety-first culture across the project
  • Partner with leaders, supervisors and crews to improve HSEQ performance
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace observations
  • Lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions
  • Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, client requirements and company standards
  • Support risk assessments, project planning and continual improvement across HSEQ systems

About you

You're a practical, respected HSEQ professional who enjoys working alongside construction teams—not behind a desk. You build trust quickly, communicate confidently and know how to influence positive safety behaviours across complex construction environments.

You'll bring:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum)
  • Previous HSEQ experience within civil construction, infrastructure, mining or major projects
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong organisational and reporting capability
  • White Card
  • Current Driver Licence

Experience working on FIFO projects and with ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems will be highly regarded.
