The Opportunity

As Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing competitive tenders and driving successful project outcomes across major civil infrastructure and TMR projects.

You’ll work closely with operational leaders, subcontractors, suppliers and senior management to develop innovative and commercially sound submissions that position Symal for continued growth.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, influencing strategy, and working on complex infrastructure opportunities.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for major civil and road infrastructure projects
• Review drawings, specifications, methodologies and tender documentation
• Identify project risks, opportunities and value-engineering initiatives
• Develop pricing strategies and support bid submissions
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and industry stakeholders
• Lead subcontractor and supplier comparison assessments for senior management review
• Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to develop winning tender strategies
• Support tender handovers to delivery teams

About You

We are looking for someone who brings strong technical capability, commercial acumen and a proactive mindset.

You Will Have:

• Strong experience delivering or estimating TMR road infrastructure projects

• Extensive experience in civil estimating and/or project delivery  

• Proven experience pricing large-scale civil projects ($20M+)
• Sound knowledge of TMR specifications, standards and tendering processes
• Advanced experience using Pronamics Expert Estimation
• Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, plant and production rates
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Current driver’s licence
