Project Manager – TMR Civil Infrastructure | Northern Queensland | Major Projects

Lead the delivery of major transport infrastructure projects across Northern Queensland.

Symal Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong TMR experience to join our growing team in Northern Queensland.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced civil Project Manager based in Townsville, Cairns or surrounding areas to take a key role in delivering significant transport and infrastructure projects across the region.

We are looking for someone who understands the requirements of working on Transport and Main Roads (TMR) projects and has a proven track record delivering civil infrastructure projects from approximately $50–60 million through to major projects valued at $200 million+.

About the Role

Reporting to the senior project leadership team, you will take ownership of the successful delivery of major civil infrastructure projects, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the end-to-end delivery of major TMR and civil infrastructure projects
• Managing project budgets, programs, resources and commercial outcomes
• Leading multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, construction, commercial and site operations
• Managing client relationships and key project stakeholders
• Working closely with TMR and other government stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
• Managing project risks, variations, claims and contractual obligations
• Driving productivity, performance and continuous improvement across the project
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards
• Leading and mentoring Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors and broader project teams
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
• Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality and project management systems

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who has successfully delivered TMR projects and understands the standards, processes and expectations associated with major government infrastructure projects. Who is based in Northern QLD ideally Townsville or surrounding towns 150 Kilometres north or South.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering TMR projects in Queensland
• Experience delivering civil infrastructure projects valued at $50 million+
• Experience managing projects in the $50–60 million range, with exposure to projects up to $200 million+ highly regarded
• Strong understanding of TMR specifications, processes, contractual requirements and project delivery expectations
• A strong background across major civil infrastructure, including roads, bridges, earthworks and associated infrastructure
• Demonstrated commercial acumen, including responsibility for budgets, variations, claims, forecasting and project controls
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead large multidisciplinary project teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• A strong focus on safety, quality, environmental compliance and project performance
• A Civil Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
