Plant & Logistics Manager | Major Renewable Energy Project | FIFO 15/6

Lead the movement, management and performance of plant, equipment and logistics on one of Australia's largest renewable energy projects.

Symal Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Plant & Logistics Manager to oversee the mobilisation, utilisation and maintenance of heavy plant, equipment and site logistics across a major wind farm development in North Queensland.

This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the right equipment, materials and resources are in the right place at the right time, enabling the project to operate safely, efficiently and productively.

 

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for managing the project's fleet of heavy civil plant, coordinating logistics, transport and site movements, and ensuring equipment availability to meet construction programmes.

Working closely with Construction Managers, Engineers, Superintendents and subcontractors, you will optimise plant performance while maintaining strong safety, compliance and commercial outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all heavy plant, equipment and fleet operations across the project.
  • Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of plant, equipment and personnel.
  • Develop plant utilisation strategies to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
  • Manage transport logistics, heavy haulage and delivery schedules.
  • Oversee plant maintenance planning and servicing in conjunction with mechanical teams.
  • Monitor plant costs, utilisation, fuel usage and operational performance.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers and transport providers.
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations, permits and site safety requirements.
  • Forecast plant requirements in line with project programmes and construction sequencing.
  • Lead and mentor Plant Coordinators, Logistics personnel and support teams.

 

About You

You are an experienced leader with a strong background in heavy civil construction, plant management and project logistics.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience managing heavy civil plant and logistics on major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of earthmoving equipment, heavy haulage and fleet management.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple work fronts in fast-paced construction environments.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling and organisational skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing plant budgets and utilisation.
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • A commitment to safety, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
