HSEQ Advisor | Wind Farm project – 2/1 roster – 2.5 hours west of Townsville

Two Positions Available | FIFO or DIDO | 30% Uplift | Accommodation & Meals Provided

Symal Infrastructure is delivering a major civil construction package on the Gawaya Baya Wind Farm, and we are looking for two experienced HSEQ Advisors to join our project team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major renewable energy project, supporting a high-performing construction team and playing a key role in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environment and quality across site.

 

The Opportunity

As an HSEQ Advisor, you will be a visible and influential presence on site, partnering with project leaders, supervisors, subcontractors and workers to drive a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with Symal and client requirements.

You will be involved across the full HSEQ function, including:

  • Implementing and maintaining HSEQ systems across the project
  • Conducting site inspections, audits, observations and compliance activities
  • Providing practical HSEQ advice to construction teams and subcontractors
  • Supporting incident response, investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Monitoring and improving project HSEQ performance
  • Delivering HSEQ training, inductions, toolbox talks and education
  • Supporting return-to-work and injury management processes
  • Maintaining accurate HSEQ records, registers and reporting
  • Working closely with the client’s HSEQ representatives
  • Supporting ISO, OFSC and client compliance requirements
  • Driving the effective use of systems including HammerTech, RIW and 3D Safety
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across the project
  • Building strong relationships across the project team and leading by example in the field

About You

We are looking for HSEQ professionals who are confident working in a major construction environment and can build strong relationships at all levels.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Certificate IV in WHS minimum; Diploma in WHS highly regarded
  • Solid Australian construction industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in a site-based HSEQ/WHS role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and construction requirements
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits and incident investigations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of HSEQ outcomes
  • Current Australian Driver Licence
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • First Aid qualification
  • Relevant incident investigation and high-risk construction training
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • A practical, hands-on approach to safety

Wind farm, renewable energy, civil construction or major infrastructure experience will be highly regarded.

 

Eligibility

Due to the requirements of the project, we are seeking candidates who are Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents and who have solid Australian construction industry experience.
