Environmental Manager | Major Civil Infrastructure Project | FIFO 2/1 Roster | 30% FIFO Uplift
Lead environmental excellence on a landmark earthworks project with a leading civil infrastructure contractor.
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join a major civil infrastructure project and take ownership of environmental management, compliance and sustainability outcomes across a large-scale earthworks operation.
Working closely with the Project Director, construction teams, subcontractors and client stakeholders, you will provide environmental leadership, ensuring project activities are delivered responsibly, in accordance with legislation, approvals, and project requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced environmental professional who is passionate about protecting the environment while supporting the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.
About the Role
As the Environmental Manager, you will:
- Lead the environmental management function across a major civil infrastructure project
- Develop, implement and maintain Environmental Management Plans and project systems
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, approvals, permits and client requirements
- Provide environmental advice and support to project teams and site leadership
- Conduct environmental inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Manage environmental monitoring, reporting and documentation requirements
- Support environmental approvals, permits, inspections and stakeholder engagement
- Identify environmental risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Lead incident investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with construction teams to deliver sustainable project outcomes
About You
You will bring:
- Proven experience as an Environmental Manager or Senior Environmental Advisor within civil construction or infrastructure
- Experience working on large-scale earthworks, roads, renewable energy, mining or major infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals and compliance requirements
- Experience developing and managing Environmental Management Plans (EMPs)
- Strong understanding of erosion and sediment control, biodiversity, rehabilitation and environmental risk management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to influence project teams and drive positive environmental outcomes
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline
