Take ownership of environmental delivery on one of Queensland’s major wind farm construction projects, the 400MW Gawara Baya Wind Farm, located ~2.5 hours from Townsville.

This is a FIFO site-based Environmental Advisor role where you’ll be embedded in day-to-day construction operations, directly influencing how environmental compliance and performance is delivered on a live civil project.

You’ll be the site’s environmental lead — working alongside supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure environmental requirements are understood, practical, and consistently achieved in the field.

What you’ll do

You’ll take ownership of environmental performance across active construction works, including:

• Implementing and maintaining the site environmental management system
• Conducting inspections, audits, and subcontractor compliance checks
• Leading environmental incident investigations and corrective actions
• Identifying and managing environmental risks in real time
• Coaching supervisors and crews on practical environmental controls
• Managing reporting, documentation, and environmental data systems
• Supporting ISO 14001 compliance and audit readiness
• Engaging with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders

About you

You’re a practical, field-focused Environmental Advisor who thrives in active construction environments.

You bring:

• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Earth Science or similar
• 2–3+ years’ experience in civil construction or major infrastructure
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation and compliance
• Experience with site inspections, audits, and incident investigations
• Confidence working with supervisors and subcontractors on site
• White Card and valid driver’s licence
• First Aid (or willingness to obtain)

Exposure to FIFO projects or ISO 14001 systems will be highly regarded.
