About the Opportunity
Symal Infrastructure is delivering the major civil works package for a large-scale renewable energy project in Northern Queensland. We are seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to join our project team and play a key role in coordinating engineering design activities, managing consultants and ensuring successful project delivery.
Working closely with the Design Manager, Project Manager, Engineering team and key stakeholders, you will coordinate design packages, manage design interfaces, drive design quality and ensure project requirements are achieved safely and efficiently.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a significant renewable infrastructure project while working with a collaborative and high-performing team.
About the Role
- Coordinating the delivery of engineering design packages, ensuring scope, quality, budget and program requirements are achieved.
- Managing relationships with design consultants and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.
- Supporting design reviews, Safety in Design workshops, design change management and quality assurance processes.
- Identifying and resolving design risks, interfaces, clashes and non-conformances.
- Monitoring design progress, reporting on key milestones and supporting project commercial outcomes.
- Ensuring design documentation meets contractual, technical and compliance requirements.
About You
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating design delivery on complex civil infrastructure, construction or renewable energy projects.
- Strong understanding of design management processes, construction methodologies and project delivery.
- Experience managing external consultants and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage scope, change and project risks.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within major infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
