Commercial Manager | Major Civil Infrastructure Project | FIFO 2/1 Roster | 30% FIFO Uplift

Lead commercial excellence on a landmark earthworks project with a leading civil infrastructure contractor.

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a major civil infrastructure project and take ownership of commercial strategy, project controls and financial outcomes.

Working closely with the Project Director, Construction Manager and project delivery teams, you will play a key role in maximising project profitability, managing contractual obligations and driving strong commercial outcomes across a complex earthworks package.

This is an opportunity for a commercially driven construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects.

 

About the Role

As the Commercial Manager, you will:

  • Lead the commercial management function across a major civil infrastructure project
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise project outcomes
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting
  • Oversee variations, claims, contract administration and commercial risk management
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and commercial processes
  • Review subcontractor agreements, procurement activities and commercial performance
  • Provide accurate cost-to-complete reporting and financial analysis
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery
  • Support negotiations with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to drive productivity and profitability

 

About You

You will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, Senior Contracts Administrator or similar role within civil construction
  • Strong experience delivering major infrastructure, earthworks, roads, utilities or renewable energy projects
  • Sound knowledge of construction contracts, variations, claims and commercial management
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets and forecasts
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence project teams and drive commercial outcomes
  • Experience using construction systems such as Jobpac, Expert Estimation or similar highly regarded
  • Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline
