The role:

Symal Infrastructure have opportunities for experienced and motivated Senior Project Engineers to join the business, with the flexibility to work on upcoming wind farm projects based regionally in either Victoria or South Australia.

These projects will see Symal deliver high-quality infrastructure works including earthworks, pavements, stormwater drainage hardstands, turbine foundations, electrical reticulation and substation.

Due to location, DIDO and LAFHA will be applicable for these projects.

Your everyday:

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will manage and coordinate projects efficiently, safely and profitably, with responsibility for program delivery, commercial performance, client relationships and team leadership.

  • Leading program planning, sequencing and delivery to ensure projects are completed ahead of contractual milestones
  • Managing commercial performance, including cost control, forecasting, variations, claims and cash flow
  • Ensuring projects are administered in accordance with contract requirements, with timely notices and claims
  • Taking ownership of site safety and environmental compliance, leading by example on high-risk works
  • Overseeing quality assurance to deliver right-first-time outcomes with minimal rework
  • Building strong, long-term client relationships that position Symal for repeat work
  • Leading, mentoring and developing Project Engineers and Site Engineers
  • Coordinating subcontractors, procurement and resources to maximise productivity and efficiency

Who are you?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction or similar
  • More than 7 years of on-site delivery experience working in a site-based role in Civil Construction, preferably on a road, renewables, or major infrastructure project
  • Experience delivering Civil scopes with technical knowledge around design, planning and construction methods
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders, sub-contractors and site staff
  • Proven experience maintaining documentation and systems for Quality, Safety and Environment
  • Proven experience in tracking daily progress, productivity, reporting and planning 4+ week lookahead
  • Commitment to Health and Safety protocols
  • Ability to travel to and work from regional Victoria or South Australia, and LAFHA where required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transport
  • Ability to travel to and work from regional locations in Victoria or South Australia, depending on Projects
