Make it yours

Experience the excitement of building your career in our evolving construction company, where people and performance make amazing things happen.

Who we are

We're Symal, a proudly different group of companies with a story of significant growth, pushing what’s possible as one of Australia’s largest self-performing contractors.

We innovate with intent – problem solving and delivering the best outcomes to our partners, communities and each other - that’s what has made Symal a success and will continue to into the future.

It’s not what we do that defines us, it’s how we do it, building better together.

The role:

We’re looking for a HSEQ Digital Systems Analyst to join our Group HSEQ team.

This role is about making sure our systems work for the people using them. You’ll sit between HSEQ, our project teams, IT and system vendors — understanding what the business needs, and making sure our systems are set up to support it.

You’ll help improve how we capture and manage things like incidents, events and compliance data, ensuring our platforms are consistent, easy to use and support good reporting and decision-making.

It’s a hands-on role where you’ll build a strong understanding of our systems, support users, and play a key part in improving how we work day-to-day.

Your everyday:

  • Work with HSEQ teams and project users to understand what they need from our systems and processes
  • Map out workflows and help improve how things like incidents, events and compliance activities are captured
  • Support the setup and ongoing administration of HSEQ systems, including fields, forms and workflows
  • Triage system issues, respond to user queries and coordinate fixes or improvements with IT and vendors
  • Help improve data quality so our reporting is reliable and useful

Who are you?

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or similar role
  • Experience working with systems, processes or SaaS platforms, and understanding how they support day-to-day operations
  • Exposure to HSEQ, construction or compliance systems
  • Experience with platforms like HammerTech or similar
  • Power BI or reporting experience
  • Comfortable talking to different stakeholders — from site teams through to IT and vendors
  • You enjoy understanding how things work and finding ways to improve them
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when it comes to data, processes and consistency
  • Passion for developing your career with Symal and be mentored by industry experts
