The role
We're looking for an Estimator to join our high-performing Symal Infrastructure estimating team.
Working across a diverse range of civil infrastructure projects, you'll be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate tenders, developing construction methodologies, engaging with subcontractors and suppliers, and supporting the successful handover of projects to our delivery teams.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced industry professionals on complex projects while continuing to grow your technical, commercial and stakeholder management capabilities.
Your everyday:
- Prepare detailed estimates, quantity take-offs and tender submissions for major civil infrastructure projects.
- Develop innovative construction methodologies, staging plans and value-driven solutions that enhance tender competitiveness.
- Engage with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to obtain pricing, assess risks and validate delivery approaches.
- Identify and manage commercial, contractual and construction risks throughout the tender process.
- Support tender reviews, client presentations, project handovers and continuous improvement initiatives across the estimating function.
Who are you?
- An estimator or construction professional with experience in civil construction, infrastructure, construction management or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of quantity take-offs, construction methodologies, tender preparation and pricing principles.
- Commercially minded with the ability to identify project risks and opportunities.
- A strong communicator who can build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
- Organised, detail-oriented and motivated to contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
