Who we are

We're Symal, a proudly different group of companies with a story of significant growth, pushing what’s possible as one of Australia’s largest self-performing contractors.

We innovate with intent – problem solving and delivering the best outcomes to our partners, communities and each other - that’s what has made Symal a success and will continue to into the future.

It’s not what we do that defines us, it’s how we do it, building better together.

The role:

We are inviting expressions of interest from experienced professionals, interested in joining Symal Group’s growing Strategy and Corporate Development team.

We currently have two new opportunities for a Business Integration Manager and a Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Analyst, with flexibility to appoint the right individual at the appropriate level, based on experience and capability.

Your everyday:

The Integration Manager will lead the post-merger integration of acquired businesses into Symal Group, ensuring acquisitions are embedded effectively and deliver long-term value.

  • Establishing and managing the post‑acquisition integration approach, including plans, timelines and governance
  • Coordinating integration activities across functions such as IT, safety, operations, finance and people, working closely with internal stakeholders
  • Leading integration kick‑offs and facilitating regular progress reviews to maintain alignment and momentum
  • Overseeing delivery of integration actions, managing issues and ensuring key dependencies are tracked and addressed
  • Monitoring integration progress, synergies and outcomes to support effective value realisation from acquisitions

The M&A Analyst focuses on supporting and executing M&A transactions, including financial analysis, deal coordination and transaction delivery.

  • Providing administrative support across M&A transactions and corporate strategy activities
  • Assisting with financial evaluations and basic modelling for acquisitions and strategic initiatives
  • Supporting due diligence processes by collating information and coordinating inputs
  • Preparing slide decks, summaries and monthly reports for internal stakeholders
  • Maintaining CRM records, deal trackers and documentation to support the M&A pipeline

Who are you?

Your experience may include:

  • Experience in corporate development, in‑house M&A, or advisory environments (e.g. consulting, corporate finance, transactions or integration)
  • Exposure to organisations with active acquisition or growth strategies
  • Strong organisational skills, with experience preparing report and presentations
  • Comfort working in fast‑growing, evolving businesses where priorities can shift
  • Ability to work with a range of stakeholders and support more senior leaders
  • A practical, delivery‑focused mindset and willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • Exposure to construction, infrastructure or engineering‑led environments will be highly regarded
  • A genuine interest in developing your career with Symal and being mentored by industry experts
