Project Safety Manager | Major Earthworks Project | FIFO 2/1 Roster | 30% FIFO Uplift
Lead safety on one of Australia's largest civil infrastructure projects.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Safety Manager to join a major earthworks project and play a critical leadership role in delivering exceptional health and safety outcomes across a large-scale civil infrastructure project.
Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead the project's safety function, partnering with operational teams to drive a proactive safety culture, ensure legislative compliance, and support the safe delivery of complex earthworks activities.

The Role
As the Project Safety Manager, you will:
- Lead all project health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across site
- Provide strategic safety leadership to project managers, engineers and supervisors
- Develop, implement and continuously improve project safety systems and procedures
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, client requirements and company standards
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Coach and mentor leaders to build a proactive safety culture
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance
- Analyse safety data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with project teams to safely deliver major earthworks packages
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- Significant experience in a senior safety leadership role within civil infrastructure or construction
- Proven experience on large-scale earthworks, road, rail, mining or renewable energy projects
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management principles
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
- Diploma or tertiary qualification in WHS (highly regarded)
- Excellent leadership, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience leading incident investigations and implementing preventative actions
- The ability to influence and build strong relationships across all levels of a project
