Project Safety Manager | Major Earthworks Project | FIFO 2/1 Roster | 30% FIFO Uplift

Lead safety on one of Australia's largest civil infrastructure projects.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Safety Manager to join a major earthworks project and play a critical leadership role in delivering exceptional health and safety outcomes across a large-scale civil infrastructure project.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead the project's safety function, partnering with operational teams to drive a proactive safety culture, ensure legislative compliance, and support the safe delivery of complex earthworks activities.

The Role

As the Project Safety Manager, you will:

• Lead all project health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across site
• Provide strategic safety leadership to project managers, engineers and supervisors
• Develop, implement and continuously improve project safety systems and procedures
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, client requirements and company standards
• Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments
• Coach and mentor leaders to build a proactive safety culture
• Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance
• Analyse safety data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Work collaboratively with project teams to safely deliver major earthworks packages

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Significant experience in a senior safety leadership role within civil infrastructure or construction
• Proven experience on large-scale earthworks, road, rail, mining or renewable energy projects
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management principles
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
• Diploma or tertiary qualification in WHS (highly regarded)
• Excellent leadership, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience leading incident investigations and implementing preventative actions
• The ability to influence and build strong relationships across all levels of a project
