The Opportunity
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you'll take ownership of preparing competitive tenders for major civil infrastructure projects while working closely with operational leaders, suppliers and subcontractors.
You'll play a key role in identifying opportunities, managing project risk and developing commercially competitive submissions that help drive Symal's continued growth across Queensland.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys influencing strategy, solving complex challenges and seeing their work translate into successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for major civil infrastructure and TMR projects
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Develop pricing strategies and value engineering opportunities
- Identify project risks and commercial opportunities
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Prepare detailed comparison schedules and recommendations
- Work closely with operational teams to develop winning tender strategies
- Support successful tender handovers to project delivery teams
About You
You'll be an experienced civil estimator who understands the Queensland market and has a proven track record delivering successful tenders.
You will bring
- Extensive experience estimating major civil infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of TMR specifications, standards and tendering processes
- Demonstrated success pricing projects valued at $20M+
- Advanced experience using Pronamics Expert Estimation
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Sound understanding of civil construction methodologies, production rates and plant utilisation
- Current Australian Driver Licence
