Project Manager – Civil Infrastructure | $110M Major Project | Lead Complex Civil Delivery

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Civil Infrastructure to take ownership of the successful delivery of a major $110M project. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and performance of the project, ensuring it is delivered safely, on time, and commercially successful.
This is an opportunity for a proven Project Manager who thrives in a hands-on delivery environment and has a strong background managing complex civil construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project delivery including programming, procurement, commercial management, quality, and safety outcomes.
- Manage project teams including Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Foremen, and subcontractors to achieve key milestones.
- Drive project performance through effective planning, cost control, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage client relationships, contractual obligations, variations, claims, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and construction standards across the project lifecycle.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects valued at $110M+.
- Strong Project Management experience within civil construction, including complex earthworks, roads, utilities, structures, or infrastructure projects.
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years' experience within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts including AS2124, AS4000, and similar forms.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, claims, variations, and project reporting.
- The ability to lead teams, build strong client relationships, and deliver exceptional project outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record delivering major civil infrastructure projects valued at $110M+.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Approximately 8+ years of relevant construction industry experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and subcontractors.
- Strong commercial management capability across procurement, forecasting, variations, claims, and contract administration.
- Sound understanding of AS2124, AS4000, PC1-1998, VicRoads Standard Forms of Contract, and similar contractual frameworks.
- Strong understanding of construction specifications and industry standards.
- Current unrestricted Driver's Licence.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop engineering and project delivery teams.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, industrial relations requirements, EBAs, and Awards.
Preferred Skills
- Experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects valued at $110M+.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
- Experience using Jobpac, Expert Estimation, or similar project controls systems.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong negotiation, dispute resolution, and client management skills.
- Understanding of VicRoads and transport infrastructure specifications.
- Experience working within D&C, ECI, Alliance, or collaborative delivery environments.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks and ISCA requirements.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and project performance monitoring capability.
- Ability to identify productivity improvements and operational efficiencies.
