The opportunity
As a FIFO Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering civil construction works safely, efficiently, and profitably. Working closely with the Project Manager and site delivery teams, you will help coordinate day-to-day engineering activities while ensuring program, cost, safety, and quality targets are achieved.
This is a hands-on site role where you will gain exposure to large-scale bulk earthworks, procurement coordination, subcontractor management, and project controls on a major renewable energy project.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engineering support across civil construction activities on site
- Develop and maintain short-term programs and 3-week lookaheads
- Track quantities, progress, and productivity on key work fronts
- Manage QA systems, ITPs, and as-built documentation
- Support procurement, cost control, and variation tracking
- Assist in commercial reporting using Expert Estimation and Jobpac
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site logistics
- Drive strong safety leadership and ensure compliance with project systems
- Support achievement of project milestones and delivery targets
About you
You are a proactive and motivated Civil Engineer who thrives in FIFO environments and fast-moving construction settings. You bring strong technical capability, commercial awareness, and a hands-on approach to site delivery.
You will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent
- ~3+ years’ experience in civil construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and site delivery
- Ability to manage programs, cost tracking, and subcontractors
- Strong safety mindset and commitment to quality outcomes
- Experience with Expert Estimation and Jobpac (desirable)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
