Construction Manager | Civil Infrastructure

The opportunity
Symal Infrastructure is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to take a key leadership role across our civil infrastructure projects.
This is a senior position with genuine ownership across project delivery, commercial performance, safety, client relationships and people leadership. You’ll lead and support project teams to deliver strong, profitable outcomes while maintaining the high standards Symal is known for.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the successful delivery of major civil infrastructure projects
- Drive project profitability, forecasting, cash flow and commercial performance
- Manage commercial risk, variations, EOTs, claims and contractual matters
- Oversee major procurement packages and subcontractor performance
- Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat work
- Provide visible leadership across safety, quality and project delivery
- Lead, mentor and develop Project Managers and engineering teams
- Ensure projects are appropriately resourced with clear roles and accountability
- Drive consistent standards and best practice across multiple projects
About you
You’re an established construction leader with a strong track record in major civil infrastructure and the commercial capability to match.
You’ll bring:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Approximately 15 years’ relevant construction experience
- Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects valued at $30M+
- Strong head contractor / civil construction experience
- Experience leading large project and engineering teams
- Strong commercial capability across forecasting, procurement, variations, EOTs and claims
- Sound knowledge of construction contracts including AS2124 and AS4000
- Strong client and stakeholder management capability
- A hands-on leadership style and genuine commitment to developing people
- Strong safety leadership and a focus on high-quality project delivery
- Current Australian Driver Licence
