The role:
Reporting to the National Environment & Sustainability Manager of Infrastructure and Senior Environment & Sustainability Advisor, your role is to be a key resource to all Project employees on both industry best practice and legislative compliance.
Your impact:
You will Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Project’s environmental and sustainability management plans
Your every day:
- Conduct and lead regular site inspections, environmental and sustainability audits and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of the Environmental Management Plan and other approved controls to ensure the Project & subcontractor activities comply with project requirements and legislative standards
- Assist in undertaking incident investigations, establish root cause and propose suitable preventative measures based on the Hierarchy of Control
- Support the National Environment and Sustainability Manager to attend client/project meetings regarding HSEQ including but not limited to Client forums, environmental audits, risk workshops, pre-commencement meetings and incident investigations.
- Ensure from an Environment and Sustainability perspective that Project employees understand client expectations and system application.
- Educate Project employees and subcontractors regarding the Project environmental and sustainability requirements and associated processes, providing direction and technical advice to team members on environmental issues.
Who are you?
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Science, Environmental or Natural Resource Management.
- Post-graduate qualifications in the environmental field and / or project management would be highly regarded.
- ISC Sustainability Accreditation (desirable)
- Approximately 1 - 5 years relevant construction industry experience
