Experience the excitement of building your Pre-Contracts career in our evolving construction company where people and performance make amazing things happen.

Who are we

We're Unyte, a team of problem solvers that have seen it all and conquered the lot, delivering construction projects across the country as a principal contractor and supporting partner.

With a history stretching back decades, we focus on tailored solutions and reliable delivery in complex project environments, with one of the nation’s largest fleet of plant and operators.

Backed by the resources of Symal, a national construction group, we’re breaking new ground with limitless capability.

The role:

As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering safe, profitable, and high-quality civil projects. Working alongside Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers, you will manage program delivery, commercial performance, safety, and quality while building strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

This role offers real progression, exposure to complex projects, and the support of experienced leaders who want to see you succeed.

Your everyday

  • Manage 3-week programs, resource planning, productivity tracking, and procurement schedules.
  • Support commercial delivery through procurement, variations, claims, forecasting, and contract administration.
  • Process purchase orders and subcontract agreements accurately within Unyte systems (Jobpac/Expert Estimation).
  • Build strong client relationships through meetings, reporting, communication, and tender support.
  • Lead site safety through toolboxes, SWMS development, audits, safety walks, and risk management.
  • Oversee quality assurance including ITPs, inspections, NCR management, RFIs, drawings, and defect control.
  • Minimise rework, maintain high standards, and ensure compliance with Unyte and client requirements across all activities.

Who are you?

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience delivering civil or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction specifications and industry standards.
  • Experience with Expert Estimation and Jobpac (advantageous but not essential).
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and communication skills.
  • A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and accountability.
  • A valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
