Ready for your next move?
There’s something rewarding about keeping a busy construction workforce moving. If you want a role where getting the right people to the right sites — safely, compliantly and on time — directly shapes how projects perform, this could be the step your career has been waiting for.
About the opportunity
You’d be joining an established construction business that has been delivering projects across the country for decades, working both as a principal contractor and as a delivery partner on complex builds. With large crews of tradespeople and labourers active across multiple sites, and backed by the resources of a national construction group, this is a business where strong workforce coordination genuinely matters.
The role
This role is all about people. Partnering closely with project teams, site supervisors and operational leaders, you’ll make sure the workforce is planned, mobilised and supported so that crews turn up ready, compliant and set up to do their best work. From onboarding new starters and booking travel to tracking tickets and keeping rosters tight, you’ll be the go-to person holding the workforce side of operations together — with equipment and transport playing a supporting part along the way.
What you’ll be doing
- Coordinate labour across multiple projects — planning crew numbers, allocating personnel and keeping rosters aligned to what each site needs.
- Own the end-to-end mobilisation of the workforce, from onboarding and inductions through to demobilisation as projects wind down.
- Organise site-specific inductions and make sure every worker is cleared and ready before they set foot on site.
- Track tickets, licences, competencies and certifications, flagging renewals early so no one is caught non-compliant.
- Arrange accommodation and travel for crews working away from home, keeping arrangements smooth and cost aware.
- Work hand in hand with subcontractors and labour-hire providers to fill roles quickly and reliably.
- Support project and site teams with workforce planning, forecasting upcoming labour demand and resourcing gaps.
- Maintain accurate personnel records, workforce documentation and compliance systems.
- Be a first point of contact for workforce queries, helping crews and supervisors resolve day-to-day people issues.
- Provide light coordination of plant, equipment and transport where it supports getting the workforce where it needs to be.
- Spot resourcing pressures or compliance risks early and escalate them before they affect site delivery.
About you?
- A background in workforce coordination, labour hire, mobilisation, rostering or a similar people-focused operational role.
- Familiarity with construction site requirements — inductions, tickets, licences and worker compliance.
- The ability to stay organised and comfortably juggle competing priorities and a lot of moving people.
- Confident, approachable communication and a real talent for dealing with tradespeople, subbies and supervisors alike.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to solving problems and keeping crews moving.
- A sharp eye for detail and a genuine commitment to compliance and record-keeping.
- Comfort working across Microsoft Office and workforce, rostering or operational management systems.
- A safety-first mindset and an appetite for continuous improvement.
