The role
As a Plant Mechanic, you’ll play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and preparing Unyte’s fleet of machines and assets. You’ll apply your trade expertise to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective servicing while upholding the high standards our clients expect. This role is hands-on, varied, and essential to keeping our operations running smoothly.
Your everyday
- Service, repair, troubleshoot and prepare plant machinery and attachments for hire
- Complete accurate on/off hire inspections and record machine condition
- Wash, clean and detail all machines to maintain a first-class fleet presentation
- Manage parts ordering, usage, returns and ensure all work meets quality and warranty standards
- Maintain accurate work orders, service reports, maintenance records and weekly timesheets
- Use electronic tools/software for inspections, reporting, audits and internal processes
- Follow all HSEQ requirements, PPE and Safety 7 principles while contributing to a safe, compliant work environment
Who are you?
- Trade qualification – Diesel Mechanic or Vehicle Mechanic
- Current drivers license
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous experience as a Plant Mechanic or similar
- Competency with load/unload and machine movement
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of relevant HSEQ legislation and standards
- A team-first attitude, initiative and willingness to support others
- Flexibility for reasonable overtime and occasional travel
