Regional Maintenance Superintendent – Queensland
Make it yours
Experience the excitement of building your Maintenance Manager career in our evolving construction company where people and performance make amazing things happen.
Who we are
We're Unyte, a team of problem solvers that have seen it all and conquered the lot, delivering construction projects across the country as a principal contractor and supporting partner.
With a history stretching back decades, we focus on tailored solutions and reliable delivery in complex project environments, with one of the nation’s largest fleet of plant and operators.
Backed by the resources of Symal, a national construction group, we’re breaking new ground with limitless capability.
The role:
We’re looking for a Maintenance Leader who wants to do more than manage equipment, we want someone who can bring structure, consistency, and control to a multi site maintenance operation.
This role sits at the centre of Unyte’s Queensland operations, leading the performance, reliability, and lifecycle management of our plant and assets across multiple business units, including Unyte, Timms, and McFayden.
You will take ownership of our workshops, maintenance teams, systems, and processes across the region, ensuring our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, while driving cost control, standardisation, and accountability across all locations.
This is not a “run the workshop” role, this is about leading a regional function, aligning teams, improving maintenance practices, and ensuring we are getting the most out of our people and assets.
Your everyday:
• Lead and align maintenance teams across multiple locations, creating consistency in standards, expectations and performance.
• Drive fleet reliability and performance, minimising downtime while maximising asset life and utilisation.
• Take control of maintenance spend - managing budgets, identifying inefficiencies and ensuring value for money across labour, parts, and contractors.
• Oversee workshops, planning, and execution of maintenance activities across a geographically dispersed fleet.
• Standardise maintenance systems, processes and reporting to ensure clear visibility and control across the business.
• Manage suppliers, OEMs, and subcontractors to ensure performance, cost effectiveness, and accountability.
• Partner with operations to ensure fleet capability supports project delivery requirements.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and asset management practices.
Who are you?
• 10+ years’ experience in senior maintenance, fleet, or asset management roles within civil, large scale infrastructure environments or mining.
• Proven experience managing multi-site or regional maintenance operations.
• Strong background in heavy mobile plant, civil equipment, or mixed fleet environments (earthmoving + transport preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to control maintenance spend and improve cost performance without compromising safety or reliability.
• Experience bringing multiple teams or business units into alignment, driving consistent standards and ways of working.
• Strong leadership capability - able to build accountability, structure, and a high-performance culture.
• Deep knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and asset lifecycle planning.
• Experience with CMMS / ERP systems and using data to drive decisions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across operations, projects and leadership.
• Mechanical trade or engineering background.
• Flexibility to travel regionally as required.
Why this role?
• Opportunity to lead and shape a regional maintenance function across multiple businesses
• Real influence over how maintenance is structured, managed and improved
• Diverse fleet and operational exposure across civil and infrastructure projects
• Work closely with senior leadership to drive performance and outcomes
