We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Manager – Quarry & Transport to lead revenue growth across our quarry materials and transport services.
This role is suited to a sales professional with strong industry knowledge and a proven ability to identify opportunities, build lasting customer relationships and deliver commercial outcomes. You will play a key role in growing market share, optimising pricing and ensuring sales commitments align with operational capability.
About the Role
The Sales Manager – Quarry & Transport will develop and execute sales strategies across quarry products and transport services, with a focus on revenue growth, customer retention and profitable market expansion.
Working closely with senior management and operational teams, you will balance commercial opportunities with production and logistics capacity while providing clear insights into market trends, sales performance and future opportunities.
The role combines office based sales and commercial management with customer and site visits, including travel to quarries, operational facilities and customer locations as required.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow revenue, market share and profitability across quarry materials and transport services.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the construction, civil and infrastructure sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors and industry stakeholders, driving customer satisfaction, retention and repeat business.
- Lead negotiations relating to contracts, pricing, service agreements and commercial terms.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and pricing to identify opportunities and maintain a competitive position.
- Manage sales budgets, forecasts, targets and pipeline activity, providing commercial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Work closely with quarry and transport operations to align customer commitments with production, capacity, scheduling and delivery requirements.
- Resolve customer enquiries, issues and escalations while maintaining strong service standards.
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities across sales, supply chain and service delivery.
- Maintain accurate CRM and sales records and develop clear dashboards and reporting tools.
- Prepare regular performance reporting covering sales against budget and forecast, revenue, margins, volumes, customer performance and pipeline activity.
- Ensure all sales activities and reporting comply with company policies, HSEQ requirements and relevant industry regulations.
What we’re looking for
You are a confident, commercially focused sales professional who understands how to develop business, negotiate effectively and build strong relationships in a fast-paced industry environment.
Ideally, you will have:
- Proven sales, business development or commercial management experience within quarrying, construction, civil, infrastructure, transport, aggregates or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of quarry materials, transport services and the construction/civil supply chain.
- A demonstrated track record of achieving sales and revenue growth.
- Strong commercial, negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Sound understanding of pricing, margins, budgets and forecasting.
- Strong analytical, reporting and CRM capabilities.
- The ability to work collaboratively with operational teams and balance customer requirements with operational capacity.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work autonomously.
- A strong commitment to safety, HSEQ and professional standards.
