Senior Project Manager

The role:
The Senior Project Manager leads and is hands-on in the delivery of a broad range of projects across solar, a national microgrid rollout, overseeing planning, execution, and commercial performance. This role manages client relationships, and contractual obligations.
With a strategic focus, the Senior Project Manager drives innovation, risk management, and continuous improvement, ensuring projects meet Searo's standards and business objectives.
This role can be based across VIC (Melbourne), NSW (Sydney or Newcastle) or QLD (Brisbane). 
 
Your everyday:
Initially you will be working on, however not limited to:

Finalisation of a 3MW solar farm in NSW. 

  • Final construction of a 3MW Trina tracking system. 
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of transformers and complete associated HV integration works.
  • Manage all testing and commissioning activities, ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and performing to specification.

National Microgrid Rollout

  • Leading the design and delivery of ground-mount microgrid solutions, ranging in size from 200 kW to 3 MW, with associated Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Coordinating and directing the internal design team to produce high-quality designs. 
  • Managing procurement to secure equipment and subcontractors on time and within budget.
  • Overseeing Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and quality performance in collaboration with the superintendent.
  • Managing both internal resources and subcontracted labour to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
  • Maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships, including providing regular updates and progress reports.
  • Leading the testing and commissioning processes across all projects to ensure operational readiness and compliance.

Depending on the state that your based in, there may be travel required across other states, however this is not a FIFO role.

 

Who are you:

  • Experience is preferably within the <5MW ground mount solar and BESS projects. 
  • Experience as an electrician or electrical engineer is highly regarded.
  • Experience with finance management, including cash flowing projects and reporting to SLT. 
  • Great communication skills. 
  • Experience with managing the whole project schedule and holding all stakeholders accountable for their deadlines. 
  • Be able to adapt to a dynamic workload and adjust priorities as they arise.
