The role:
Reporting to the Head of Solutions and working closely with the Bid Manager and Commercial Manager, you'll be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate tenders while identifying opportunities to add value and reduce risk.
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex electrical infrastructure projects, collaborate with industry-leading professionals, and contribute directly to the continued growth of the business.
Your everyday:
- Prepare, coordinate, and submit accurate and competitive tender submissions within required timeframes.
- Review tender documents and complete detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure value and competitiveness.
- Identify project risks, opportunities, exclusions, and assumptions, implementing strategies to minimise commercial risk.
- Develop practical construction methodologies and innovative solutions to strengthen tender outcomes.
- Conduct tender reviews, estimate validation, and quality checks to ensure pricing accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate closely with operational and construction teams to align estimates with project delivery requirements.
- Lead post-tender activities, including client presentations, negotiations, clarifications, and contract handovers.
- Prepare comprehensive project handover documentation, budgets, and key project information for delivery teams.
- Drive continuous improvement of estimating systems, processes, supplier databases, and industry knowledge through ongoing training and stakeholder engagement.
Who are you?
- Minimum 3 years' experience in estimating, project engineering, or construction management.
- Experience pricing projects valued at $5 million or greater.
- Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, civil construction, or utilities projects.
- Excellent commercial awareness and risk management skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using estimating software and digital take-off tools.
- Construction White Card.
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
