We're Searo, a self-performing, multi-disciplinary electrical contractor, delivering smart, dynamic solutions across renewable energy and infrastructure. We’re designing high-performance energy systems that revolutionise how businesses and communities think about power.

Partnering with Symal, a national construction group, we’re redefining energy, together.

The role:

We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to lead health, safety, environment and quality across our electrical, renewables and energy infrastructure portfolio. This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for ensuring Searo’s HSEQ systems are implemented effectively across projects, remain compliant with legislation and client requirements, and continue to evolve in line with industry best practice.

You will act as a trusted advisor to project and senior leadership teams, providing practical guidance in high-risk construction environments while driving a strong, consistent safety culture across the business.

Your everyday

  • Conducting and overseeing HSEQ audits, inspections and risk reviews across live projects
  • Managing incident response, investigations, corrective actions and close-out in line with legislative and company requirements
  • Supporting injury management and return-to-work processes to achieve best outcomes for employees
  • Partnering with project teams to identify risks, uplift capability and embed safe systems of work
  • Providing HSEQ input into tenders and pre-contracts, including methodology reviews and compliance documentation
  • Preparing and presenting regular HSEQ performance reports to senior leadership
  • Building strong relationships with clients, regulators and internal stakeholders

Who are you?

  • Demonstrated experience in construction, ideally within electrical, renewables, energy or infrastructure environments
  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum qualification)
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, ISO standards and high-risk construction activities
  • Proven experience managing audits, incident investigations and regulatory engagement
  • The ability to influence, coach and hold teams accountable at all levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with high attention to detail
  • The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • A current Australian Driver’s Licence
